Interested in joining the Koerner lab?

Fill out the form here or just shoot Dr. Koerner an email!

Undergraduate:
We are almost ALWAYS looking for motivated and excited undergraduate researchers in our lab either as BIO499/493 students or as volunteers. Its never too early or too late in your academic journey to apply. Occasionally, we have some paid summer work but that typically goes to students who are already in the lab. If you are interested please send us a note and include:
(1) A little about yourself (what's your major, when you tentatively plan to graduate, what are you interested in doing post graduation)
(2) Why do you want to do research (just a sentence is fine!)
(3) Specifically why you want to do research on biodiversity and ecology (again - this can be short)
If available attach your resume/CV and/or your unofficial transcripts.
Dr. Koerner will then set up a time to chat with you (30 min), so she can tell you about working in the lab and learn more about your interests. (FYI this is a competitive process)

Graduate:
We have a MS in Biology and a PhD in Environmental Health Science here at UNCG.

If interested in joining our graduate program, send Dr. Koerner a note and include:
(1) A little about yourself, your research experience, and why you want to obtain this degree (specify MS or PHD and why specifically in community ecology)
(2) A CV
(3) Unofficial transcripts (note, an applicant will be assessed based on MANY things and lower GPA in undergrad is just one of them - do not let this prevent you from getting in touch with Dr. Koerner!)

*** Note: The Koerner Lab is full for August 2021 but will potentially be taking either a MS or PhD student in Fall 2022 ***
Postdoctoral Associate: Currently, the Koerner lab does not have funding for a postdoc; however, we have large amounts of data and great experimental infrastructure AND lots of ideas. Dr. Koerner would love to help mentor a postdoctoral fellowship application. Get in touch!

The Koerner Lab is located in 339 Eberhart Building, UNCG
